Wall Panelling, Wainscoting and Coving in Aberdeen
Panelling is the fastest way to give a plain hallway, staircase or bedroom real character. We set out, fit and finish picture-frame panelling and wainscoting, then paint it so the joins disappear and it looks like it was always there.

What's included
Panelling we fit and finish
Every quote includes the preparation, materials and a full tidy-up, so the price you see is the price you pay.
- Picture-frame (box) panelling

- Staircase and hallway panelling that follows the rake of the stairs
- Feature walls behind beds and in living rooms
- Caulking, filling and sanding so every joint is invisible
- Painting the panelling and walls in one or two tones
Hallway and staircase panelling
Stairs are where panelling makes the biggest difference, and where it's easiest to get wrong. The boxes have to follow the angle of the staircase and line up with the hallway and landing. We set everything out on the wall before fixing, so the spacing is even from top to bottom.
Bedroom and living room feature walls
A panelled wall behind a bed or around a fireplace adds depth without making a room feel smaller. Paired with a deep colour above, like navy or forest green, it gives a finished, high-end look for a fraction of the cost of a refit.
Coving fitting and repairs
Coving hides the line where wall meets ceiling and finishes a room off. We fit new plaster or lightweight coving, repair damaged runs, and fill and caulk the joints so it reads as one clean line once painted. In older homes we can patch and repaint existing cornicing to bring it back to life.
The finish is in the painting
What separates good panelling from DIY panelling is the finishing: every nail hole filled, every joint caulked and sanded, and a smooth, brush-mark-free coat on top. Because we're decorators first, that's the part we take most care over.

FAQ
Wall Panelling questions
How long does it take to panel a hallway?
A typical hallway, stair and landing takes a few days from setting out to final coat, depending on the size and how much painting is done at the same time.
What colour works best with panelling?
A single colour over walls and panels gives a calm, modern look. Two tones, with a darker colour above or below the dado, makes the panelling stand out more. We can show you examples on the visit.
Can panelling go on any wall?
Most plastered or plasterboard walls are fine. We check the wall is sound and reasonably flat first, and work around sockets, switches and radiators.
