Painting a single room or the whole house
Interior work usually happens in lived-in homes, so we plan the job around you. We'll agree which rooms come first, keep the kitchen and bathroom usable where we can, and clear up every evening so you're not living in a building site.
For a full house we usually work top down: ceilings first, then walls, then woodwork, so drips and dust never land on a finished surface.
Hallway, stair and landing painting
Stairwells are the job most people put off because of the height. We use proper stair platforms and ladders so we can reach high walls and ceilings safely, without leaning anything on your freshly painted surfaces.
Hallways take more wear than any other room, so we recommend a durable, wipeable finish on the walls and a hard-wearing satin or eggshell on skirting and banisters.
Granite flats, tenements and period homes
Aberdeen's older granite properties have high ceilings, deep cornicing, ceiling roses, tall skirting and original doors and shutters. They take more careful cutting in and more preparation on old woodwork, and they look best with a well-planned colour scheme. We allow for that properly in the quote rather than rushing it.
New builds and rental refreshes
New plaster needs a diluted mist coat so the paint bonds, and most new homes develop settlement cracks in the first couple of years. We fill those properly before replacing builder's white or magnolia with your own colours. For landlords, we turn rental properties round quickly between tenants with durable, wipeable finishes.
Repairs and preparation done right
The finish is only as good as the wall underneath. We fill and sand cracks, patch small areas of damaged plaster, treat water and smoke stains so they don't bleed through, and prime bare surfaces. See our wall and ceiling repairs page for more.
Help choosing colours and finishes
Not sure between two greys? We'll talk you through how colours behave in north-facing Aberdeen light, which finishes clean best, and where a darker accent wall or painted woodwork will lift a room.

FAQ
Interior Painting questions
How much does it cost to paint a room in Aberdeen?
It depends on the size of the room, the condition of the walls and how much woodwork is involved. We price every job individually after a free visit, so you get a fixed written quote rather than a guess.
How long does it take to paint a room?
An average bedroom or living room usually takes one to two days including preparation, two coats on the walls and the woodwork. Hallways and stairwells take longer because of the height and the amount of woodwork.
Do I need to move my furniture?
It helps if small items and breakables are cleared, but we'll move and cover larger furniture ourselves and put it back afterwards.
Can you paint over wallpaper?
Sometimes, if it's well stuck down and in good condition, but in most cases stripping it first gives a better and longer-lasting finish. We'll check on the visit and advise.
